With the Wave of A Wand
abracadabra! Issue 3 is here.
Seeking a cozy distraction?
Above: Aqua Risograph ink on Nightshift blue card stock by French Paper Co., and a magic wheel by Maddy Underwood.
We couldn’t have put it better ourselves: Here’s a note from co-founders of the abracadabra! project, Izzy Fradin and Maddy Underwood:
“With pleasure and satisfaction, we present to you, the third installment of abracadabra❢. Conceived of as a sort of subversive almanac, this issue isn’t so interested in outlining a predictable schedule for the year to come, so much as musing on the potential we have to mold our days with our intentions, to wander mindfully through the labyrinths of our lives, and the powers derived from relating to time as a friend, a companion, and a witness to the mysteries ever-present around us… even right now❢”
Izzy and Maddy approached us as collaborators in the depths of winter last year. We were humbled. BearBear illustrated some “charms” for the special fold-out insert and we printed this almanac just in time before moving our studio out of The Bindery! We’ll be in our new ‘Riso Den’ formation come May 1st. Full details yet to be announced.
We’re so excited to finally share this project with you. Above, we’re testing Sky Blue (on the black paper) vs. Aqua on dark blue and green papers for the cover.
Issue 3 features contributions from a magnificent array of talented wizards:

Final Scene
Thank you to everyone who rubbed elbows or shared space with us at the last Creative Mornings at the Urban Ecology Center! In case you missed it, Rachal Duggan delivered a tasty, vulnerable, and super-real talk about grief, cake, and making a living as an artist.
